Solved Samsung 840 Pro SSD, should I wipe it clean

So I just opened my new samsung 840 256 SSD, and upon booting 7 it shows that about 19GB is already used on the partition page. I know its not a big deal, but I was planning on allocating 50GB for the OS and with that I'm down 70GB already. Should I go to disk part and clean all or leave it be?

I just placed the SSD in the hard drive slot (replacing the factory) and placed the windows disk in the drive and turned the computer on for the first time and the activation window popped up to begin the process

So the 19GBs on the SSD is the Windows OS that was installed on the SSD. Can you check that. The complete SSD is probably 1 partition minus the 100MB system partition. Look into disk management..

I don't think so, well this is the whole process.

The laptop came with windows 7 pro on it and the Dell HDD default. I replaced that with the Samsung, before I even turned it on (along with new ram) and then placed the windows installation disc (OEM) into the drive and turned it on for the first time. When the screen loaded up it went right to the installation page, which I then pressed accept and it then took me to the where do you want to install windows box?

From there it shows the usual Disk 0 Unallocated Space and no other disks but with 238.5 free, not 256. That was my question; did Samsung install some programs on the SDD that would take up that space since it was new right out of the box I was not sure

Damn. I was just reading a thread talking about binary and thought that was the case, but doubted myself. Oh well, thanks for the lesson WHS and of course the help once again!

No problem. You are not the only one that fall into that trap.

I remember one lady from Canada that wanted to sue Western Digital because her 500GB disk showed only 465GBs. We had a hard time keeping her from going to court.
