Hi. I have installed Windows 7 Ultimate x64 many times on my HP G62 but there is this problem where all downloads I do are corrupt. I'm sure it isn't my router, as I have never updated it with my laptop, but I do reset the router when my internet goes slow (which is only about 2-3 times per month). My RAM is ok, I have ran memtest86 on it, Linux does work fine on my machine also. Windows can not contain any viruses as it has been doing it all the time. I tried installing updates/hotfixes related to this problem, but they refuse to install. I'm guessing this could be a driver/update related problem, but I don't know what to install/uninstall.

I have also looked up a solution, but they don't really work.

What type of media are you using to install Windows? Retail DVD? ISO on DVD or USB?

Try downloading the relevant ISO from Digital River and try installing from a fresh copy of the media.

It's worth a shot if your current install is throwing up so many problems.

First of all, open an elevated command prompt and type in sfc/scannow and hit enter. Post back with the results.

It didn't find any problems. I'm now going to use the ISO.

Alright, I'm done. It still does it.

See if this helps;

Firstly, ensure you have the latest drivers installed for your network card from your computer manufacturer's website.
Secondly, try resetting the network stack.
1. Click Start
2. Type CMD and press CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER (runs the command prompt elevated)
3. Type netsh winsock reset and press Enter
4. Type netsh int ip reset and press Enter
5. Restart.

There is also a FixIt for the above if you would prefer to use it;

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/299357

Do you have a spare network card or maybe wireless functionality to be able to use a wireless USB stick instead - to rule out your network card as the cause?

I don't have any other wireless media. I'm don't think this is my network card because using Linux, downloads aren't corrupt.

I guess I will try that, but also, my main issue is that the images sometimes part way load, and then get corrupted (random colors, messed up.) I will post a example the next time it occurs.
