Solved Can I know if my laptop boot from USB or CD ?

Hi all
This is my first post is this good forum and I hope that I get help
I put windows password to protect my data

but if someone use Linux on USB or CD to boot , he can get access to my files

My question is : Can I know if my laptop got boot from USB or CD ? and if there any log to record what has been done ?
Also , can I know if someone take out my hard disk and copy my data using another system ?
lastly , how can protect my data from copy ?

No, you can't. Unless you can write a custom BIOS that displays the log of all previous boot management, you can't find this sort of thing out.

The only way to find out if your data has been copied to another system is to have the physical copy and check if the GUID on the copied files is the same as yours.

The only way to prevent your data from being stolen is with encryption that only you know the password for, though semantically speaking that doesn't really mean it won't be stolen, just that it can't be accessed afterward.

The best way to win in this situation is to take your HDD out of your laptop and bring it with you when you aren't at home or where ever it is that you're leaving your laptop.

the problem is that I can't take my laptop or HDD from work office,
for the encryption , can I use "Windows using Encrypting File System (EFS)"
the procedure that I know is : Right-click on the file or folder >under the General tab click (Advanced) >Check "Encrypt contents to secure data" then click OK
is it useful ? what if I want to encrypt all existing and upcoming files automatically ?

Then you would want to use BitLocker. Right click your HDD and click Turn BitLocker on.
