I'm building a new costume build I finally got all the components and some I didn't think of like a usb keyboard & mouse "ps2 looks like its being fazed out lol", so below is what I got

Asus Maximus VI formula
i7 4770k/NH-D14
GTX 750 Ti
main win 7 on a 240GB SSD
but have about six other HD on Sata some storage some windows, plus one dvd writer, and one blu ray writer drive

externally I got a Esata drive and a usb 3 drive

so my question is, is my Corsair TX650W up to the job ?

I assume you mean "Custom" and not "Costume" build unless you are into fancy dress lol.

I would say that PSU will be just fine given the hardware. If you decide to upgrade the GPU in the future you might want to upgrade the PSU too but it should be fine for what you want right now.

I would do a little more research and see if the power supply works properly with a Haswell cpu.

The big Haswell PSU compatibility list - The Tech Report - Page 1

For a few weeks now, we've known that Intel's Haswell processors feature a new sleep state that isn't compatible with all power supplies. Haswell's sleep power draw is substantially lower than that of previous generations, and it can trigger some PSUs' under-voltage protection and force a system reset.

The reason I posted the links so everybody could read them. FYIM type thing.
Many will never check such things and buy the wrong power supply.
Web picked a good one.

I do agree with you Paul the power supply will work, but if the money is right I would select something in the 860W or higher range. A little elbow room for upgrading hardware if Web gets the itch.

Web what case and ram are you going to be using.

NH-D14 is a quality air cooler but large.
One must make sure it will fit in a case that has proper cooling and that the ram has enough room to miss the cooler.

well I agree with everthing above, I still think that 650w is more than enough for single card usage, even upto say a 780 levels.

I have a hx650 on an i5 2500k and a gtx770. doing the math online my max draw is less than 500w, so a haswell chip thats half the wattage of mine (give or take) and a gpu that pulls its power from the pci lane (so about 68w compared to mines 300 odd) your looking at huge head room to spare!

agreed bigger is better for future proofing, but arent psu's more efficient closer to their max draw than they are under less load?
thats just me though :) bear and pauls advice is still spot on!
