As the title says I often recive a BSOD when trying to play videogames. Usually after installing it I launch it knowing it will blue screen. I get the error isql is not less or equal? Something along those lines. Anyway usually after the crash I go back to steam and just verify the integrity. But sadly, on Far Cry 3 this will not work. It is frustrating to have it crash so often! Today it crashed when all I was doing was watching YouTube! Anyway guys thanks for the help in advance.

You're welcome. Did the driver for that device come bundled with your motherboard disk?

Actually what happened was I needed wifi for this pc but I could not get the driver for that device so I went to a comp that had internet, downloaded the driver, installed it on this computer and everything was fine. I guess everything is not fine. And the download did not work. I installed and restarted my computer. I tried to luanch Far Cry 3 and I recieved the BSOD. :( If it helps I have a Encore N300

EDIT: I am now able to verify the integrity. Will try to launch now.

EDIT2: Game now luanched after verifying! I guess that link did help a little. Thanks for the help. But I still get the BSOD if I do not verify newly installed games. Any idea why?

Just a few things to clear up:

  • Is the Realtek Wireless adaptor onboard or separate card?
  • Did you install a newer driver?
  • If so, did installing the driver then allow you to verify games?
  • Are you verifying games in Steam or Uplay?

1. It is a usb adapter.

2. I installed whatever you linked me to so yes.

3&4. Yes it did. Before when I hit verify I would get a BSOD. After installing the new driver, I could not just straight up launch the game because I got another BSOD. But after it rebooted I was able to verify. I verified it through steam and then when I hit play, it opened up Uplay and then the game started from there.

The last dump file in the logs was at 11:27, is that the correct time?

If so, the Realtek device is still the problem and the drivers are dated the same as before.

Code:
0: kd> lmvm RTL8192cu
start end module name
fffff880`02ce0000 fffff880`02df2000 RTL8192cu T (no symbols)

If that is the correct log we need to find a more updated driver for that device.

Thanks so much man. Really appreciate it. I currently have another game downloading so if you find what you believe to be a fix, I can try it out on this game.

EDIT: Posted this before seeing your latest post. And yes that is around the time IIRC. I may have selected the wrong one? Maybe. I will re-upload. I think that was the correct time though.

I'm a bit confused here, it's a Realtek Wireless Network adapter driver that's causing the problem but your USB adapter is an Encore, I didn't pick up on that at first. I'm just checking your motherboard manual as I think the Realtek wireless adapter must be on board.

Can you open Device Manger, expand the Network Adapters and take a grab with the Snipping Tool. How to Use the Snipping Tool in Vista Then upload the shot in your next post. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/9733-screenshots-files-upload-post-seven-forums.html

Just to double check, is your motherboard just a P8Z77 or does it have a suffix?

Could you set a System Restore point then uninstall the Realtek Family Controller via Device Manager. Reboot and see if Windows installs a driver for it.

Sure. Uninstalling now.

EDIT: I have no notifications of it installing. And as you would expect it is no longer listed in device manager. Do you think this has solved the issue? Thanks.

Hopefully, if the device has uninstalled it should have taken the driver with it. Test the machine out for a few days and if you get any more BSODs then post them up straight away. If you are confident the issue is sorted you can mark the thread as Solved, you can always mark it Unsolved if the problem returns.
