sound is fuzzy and static (win7)

hi guys, im sorry if im posting this but can anyone help? when i installed the Windows 7 32bit, i already have the sound installed but its so fuzzy and static when i play music or watch video..i tried the latest realtek driver and always the old ones.. but nothing is working..

do me a favor. go into device manager (type device manager in search) and look at the audio tab. Is the device listed? dows it have a yellow triangle on it? is there any other "unknown" devices listed with yellow triangles?

in sound control panel can you take a snip (using snipping tool type snipping in search) to take a screenshot and upload it

If you click on speakers does configure become available? if so, whats in it?

there is only one option on the audio channel which is stereo, and i clicked it the run test then after there is a next button, when i click it there are two option for full range speakers: front left and right and the other one is surround speaker but i cannot click the surround speaker option. then when i clicked it, it says configuration complete.

its got to be there some where what you are looking for is something like gain. What audio chipset are you using?

uhmm.. my motherboard is asus and before when i was still using xp, it was realtek..

if you go into device manager (type device manager in search) and go to the sound/audio right click and properties. see what it says. we can get the specifics for your chipset but need to know which one it is

Try checking the box for disable all enhancements, then save. I doubt that will help but easy enough to try. On Vista, when it was first released, I had a similar problem. What I found to be a little helpful and others have found to be the solution is to either update or use older version of the SATA driver.

i was looking at my motherboard cd and i dont know if this helps but it says, p5sd2-vm, sis672 series.

Have you tried to install the Vista driver from the mobo cd, for audio?

yup i tried to install the one from my cd but it says the os does not support this..

did you try installing it in compatibility mode?

Copy the install folder to the desktop or anywhere. Right click on the .exe or other install file and choose properties. There's a compatibility tab to do that on there. Try Vista and/or SP1, SP2. Then run it and install.
