I copy videos all the time to my Android Tablet. Samsung Note 8.

Every time I copy them from my Win 7 Pro Desktop it prompts me to convert them.

Is there anyway to stop asking me to convert? Its very annoying.

I tried to search here but I have no good results searching forums. I also tried google but came up blank as well.

Are you using the My Computer link shown when you plug the USB cable by any chance?
I'm getting the very same messages all over, it's annoying, and the conversion never succeeds anyway.

I wonder if an alternate file browser like Q-Dir or File Commander would work any differently?

You could also use xcopy or robocopy from a command line but I think that would be a lot more work than clicking No to the convert prompt.

I never have this issue. Is it showing up as a media device or an actual drive?

Your awesome for reading this.

I have tried both MTP and Camera setting on the tablet. When using MTP it wants to convert. When using camera it only shows pictures and copies only pictures.

This has me stumped. I don't believe there is a solution to this so I will just have to live with it.

Another much simpler option is to get the sd card and plug it into your pc with a usb to card reader. Easiest and fastest way. Or use something like google drive or onedrive.

Maybe it's not "easier" exactly, but I like to use ES File Explorer to manage my Android phone. It also works on tablets.
It can connect to Windows shares and read/write files from there. So you just put your files in a shared folder, and pick them up from the tablet. No conversions even asked, and don't even requires the USB cable. As it uses WiFi, it's somewhat slower on large files, though.
