Hi there,
I have an Acer Aspire X1301 desktop pc which is running so slowly. I was advised that installing an SSD would speed it up and give it a new lease of life ...so I purchased one! Sadly however, upon opening the pc case, I realised that there was no spare space inside for me to be able to install the new SSD and retain the old hard drive for storage purposes :-(
However,I do have a 5.25" optical drive in there which is broken and hasn't been used for years (I have an external optical drive that I use when I need to).
So I guess my question is can I remove the internal optical drive and use that bay to house my new SSD? If so is there such a thing as an adapter that I can buy to be able to mount the drive into the large bay? Can I use the same cables or will the SSD require different connectors?
I would be very grateful of any advice - I haven't attempted anything like this before!
Thanks
