Evening,
I have had no problems with this PC until recently. The first time it happened today it stated a 0x000007A error and every other time has been a 0x00000F4 error.
August 8th was the first time it started getting BSOD, which happens to be the last time a dump file was made.
I have set it to write a small memory dump file when it crashes, but I have had 3 crashes since doing that and no files have been written.
I have performed the "SFC /scannow" command and no errors came up.
For some reason the DM Log collector program didn't make a zip file, so I converted it to a .rar file which is attached.
If you need any event viewer history (which I've looked through and couldn't find anything related to the power failure) let me know.

Thanks,
Slangster

It appears that the issue is with the HDD, Caviar Green 1 TB.

Have you changed the partition type from MBR to GPT? Let us know. If so, how have you done it?

We need to see your disc management window.

  1. Right click on the My Computer icon> Select manage. It will open the computer management window.
  2. Click on the "Disc Management" in the left pane.
  3. Make the window Full Screen.
  4. Take a screenshot using snipping tool
  5. Upload the image here following this instructions.
Also test the HDD using Data Lifeguard Diagnostic for Windows. Take both the short and extended test. Let us know the result.

KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR (7a)
The requested page of kernel data could not be read in. Typically caused by
a bad block in the paging file or disk controller error. Also see
KERNEL_STACK_INPAGE_ERROR.
If the error status is 0xC000000E, 0xC000009C, 0xC000009D or 0xC0000185,
it means the disk subsystem has experienced a failure.

As far as I know I haven't changed the partition type. I'm not sure what that means, or what MBR or GPT are, but I have made no changes to the hard drive.
I performed the quick test, it got to about 95% in 1:30, then after another 3 minutes it said:
"Quick Test on drive1 did not complete!
Status code = 07 (Failed read test element), Failure Checkpoint = 97
(Unknown Test)
SMART self-test did not complete on drive1!
Extended test froze on sector 194142463 of 1953525167 for a few minutes.
Ran for 3 hours and said "Too many bad sectors detected."
Desktop started flashing, screen went black, Windows Aero got disabled?
Tried to view results, Windows Explorer began restarting, went to what looks like Windows '98 theme.

I will try to post the results but it may require a reboot. Every time I browse for an image to upload Chrome shuts down.

I rebooted, I got a BSOD before I even logged in. Rebooted again, it checked the disc for consistency which it did a few days ago.

The HDD is over. You have to have a new one. If it is within warranty then RMA it; otherwise buy a new one.

MBR and GPT are partition types. The mess was caused by the bad sectors I think, the crash dump recording mechanism failed to determine the partition type properly.

What on earth could have caused my HDD to get that screwed?
I assume the data is still transferable though?
Either way, thanks for helping me out!
