Multiple BSOD Errors + Monitor Going to Sleep

Hello there Windows 7 Forums users, I have encountered an unexpected problem that didn't start happening until 2 weeks ago, so prepare yourself for an adventure because it's quite the journey.

Problem:
Starting two weeks ago, I have encountered a Blue Screen of Death(BSOD) for the first time in 2 years. I didn't get to see the file name/driver name since as soon as it showed the screen it skipped all the way to the bottom of the screen before I get a look. After that, whenever I tried to start my PC up, the monitor would not load the image, but instead says ""No Input Signal" and then "Monitor Goes to Sleep". It does this everytime I tried to start it up, so I kept on force shutting it down using the button and starting it up again. Only to get another Blue screen. After trying again and again, it worked and my PC is fine...only to suffer the same problem over and over again when I start my PC up.

Keep in Mind:

- There are mutiple types of Blue Screen errors, not just constant type. (EX: Multiple_IRP_Requests, Driver_IRQL_Less_or_not_equal, Memory_management_Error, and many more except I forgot the problems)

- There is no boot image when I start the PC up, just "Monitor is Going to Sleep"

- My settings on my PC makes it so that Monitor will not go to sleep ever

- Sometimes a blue screen will appear, but it won't show it, instead it'll freeze my PC.

- I have tried updating drivers and it says all drivers are updated. There was one that cannot work which was the Teredo Tunneling Adaptor/Psuedo-Interface, but I uninstalled it and the problem still occurs.

I need a solution. Please help, and I lost my Windows 7 Disc,so that's not a factor anymore. Thanks

One more important thing is the BIOS date. 3/28/2008. Was this machine a Vista OEM and later upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate?

First thing, as the computer is old, report us the heat of the computer after a couple of hours of your normal usage. Upload a screenshot of the summery tab of Speccy. Alternatively, you can publish a Speccy snapshot too: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/311593-speccy-publish-snapshot-your-system-specs.html .

If the heat is under control, then we would start with the iaStor thing. It might be critical as it is used as RAID mode, as Intel(R) SATA RAID Controller.

So first let us know about the system heat.

Also wait for what Golden suggests.

Temps are good enough for an old computer.

Next thing is the iaStor issue. Intel Rapid Storage. That is used as RAID mode there. It might be a long lasting problem. To resolve the issue, the best thing that can be done is to change the storage controller mode.

Boot into the BIOS. Go to Advanced settings. Change the storage controller mode to AHCI. If AHCI is not available, change it to IDE/ATA whatever is available. Save and exit.

But then your computer will not boot to windows at all. Because windows can boot to the storage controller mode on which it was originally installed. And at this point you have to perform a clean reinstall.

That Clean Reinstall is necessary. Not only to remove the RAID controller which is a big part of the issue, but also it will discriminate between the hardware issue and driver/software issue. We have seen that hardware is also flagged as probable cause earlier. If the issue continues even after the clean reinstall, that it s hardware.

So let us know the situation.

For the Clean Install, most of of the program's content are Display Drivers so will I have to reinstall my Nvidia Geforce GT 610?

Also, I misunderstood your earlier statement. If you change the storage controller mode, then it wouldn't boot to Windows at all...and this is when you use this program? Or you can just use this program right away?

To remove the RAID mode iaStor, you have to change the storage controller mode as suggested.

After doing it, windows will not boot at all.

So, a clean reinstall will be needed.

If Windows will not boot up at all, how can I cleanly reinstall it, and what do I have to reinstall? The display adapter? The iaStor?

I'm no BSOD expert but if it was my computer what I would start off with.

1. Remove/disable Ready Boost. Remove what ever device that is being used as ready boost.

2. Set bios to default

3. Remove all left overs of AVG using their online uninstalled.

4. Install Microsoft Security Essentials and update. Then run a scan.

5. Using msconfig/Startup only have the security program checked.

6. Using msconfig/Services, (Hide all Microsoft Services checked) only have your security programs checked.

7. Then I would use this tutorial by Bare Foot Kid.
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/76383-disk-cleanup-extended.html

8. Then I would use CCleaner to do another cleanup. Note: Don't use the registry section of CCleaner as per this tutorial by Andrew12260.
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/306648-ccleaner-delete-junk-files.html

Then use your system and let us know what happens.
If you get another BSOD then post the log here exactly as the BSOD tutorial instructs.

***This is the preferred method of posting screen shots on this form.***

I agree with Layback Bear and my two cents worth is run this Download Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10 you will need to make a bootable disk etc and if yo are intending a reinstall then this
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219487-clean-reinstall-factory-oem-windows-7-a.html#post1839164 make sure you only pick the original version as trying a higher version will end in grief.

I would of course make sure you back up all your important data first.

If are looking at testing specific hardware ie hard drive, PSU and GPU we can put you onto bootable programs that do not require Windows to be booted.

Layback Bear I have done everything that you did and it reduced the problem...A LOT. My Monitor doesn't go to sleep a lot anymore and most of the Blue Screens are pretty much gone.

There was only a few problems...

- BOOTMGR image is corrupted(happened once so it's fine)
- BSOD Bad_Pool_Header which is different from the one I mentioned on my first post. Here is the log.

Oh and by the way ICit2lol, I did the Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10, but I didn't exactly use it yet. And the Windows 7 files are too large for my discs and USB XD.

The lack of consistency of the probable causes are highly indicating to a memory failure.

IMHO you can opt for am RAM test. Test your RAM modules for possible errors. Run memtest for at least 8 consecutive passes.

If it starts showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.

The last 3 Startup programs you won't see are Steam Client Service(Checked), Voobly(Unchecked), and Open Office(Checked)

Also, Arc, I will try that tommmorow.

I hate to be that annoying guy that has too many problems, but I just got another Blue Screen. 1 for IRQL Less or not Equal, and another one for PFN_List_Corrupt(First time I got this error).

On the bright side, the Monitor Goes to Sleep problem has been greatly decreased. :)

You have only shown part of Start up programs.

I see a lot of things that I don't believe need to start at boot.
You can make a note of all the startup programs checked marked and then uncheck everything but your security programs and reboot.

I also see you have Java by Oracle. Most system do not need this program.

Your using AVG Tune up. I would suggest you remove that also. Hopefully it hasn't done any damage to your system.

Plain and simple remove all those little goodie programs that Fixup, Tuneup, Pretty up programs. They will cause nothing but trouble.

As far as I can remember Real Player and Quick Time also cause problems.

Basically you have a computer full of junk programs at best don't work well and at worst do damage to your system.

What is Hamaci??
