Hello,

Here is a little background on my problem.. About two weeks ago I installed the MotionJoy drivers so I could use my PS3 controller for the game Dark Souls, but I kept getting BSOD randomly while playing. I found out that the MotionJoy driver is known for causing BSOD on some peoples PCs. I uninstalled the driver and the MotionJoy program.
I then bought an official Xbox 360 controller but my computer continued to BSOD when playing Dark Souls. I tested multiple games using the 360 controller and the only game that causes the BSOD is Dark Souls.

In the last few days I have reformatted my hard drive and re-installed windows 7 Home premium 64bit and only Dark Souls continues to cause BSOD.

I have attached a picture of the BSOD I keep receiving:
"The device driver got stuck in an infinite loop."
STOP:: 0x000000EA (0xFFFFFA8006A8D760, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000)

I have attached the DM Log Collector file.

And I have also attached my PC specs that I saved to a .txt file from Speccy.

And I have attached a snipping tool grabof Blue Screen View info of the Mini Dump.

I hope this is enough information, please let me know if you need anything else.

Thank you, Sam.

It is a bugcheck that is not seen very often.

It is either a hardware or the driver to the hardware. Apparently in this case it means video. Either display driver or the GPU.

You are using Catalyst 14.7 RC3 which you are not supposed to.

Uninstall your installed version of the display driver.

Then clean up any possible leftover.

Then install any WHQL version only.

When done, Stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark.

I ran the test for 5 minutes, not sure how long I should let it run for. The temperature of my GPU slowly rose to an average of 70c (stayed there) and a max temp of 71c. FPS was average of 11. I didn't see any artifacts on the screen just some trippy visuals aha. Should I try playing dark souls?

EDIT: I forgot to mention I uninstalled everything AMD related as per tutorial, ran DDU in SafeMode and then installed the latest drivers from the AMD website.

I've just played Dark Souls for the first time after removing my old drivers, installing new ones and running FurMark. I got the quickest BSoD in less than 2 minutes of playing. The exact same STOP code and 'Device driver stuck in an infinite loop' message appeared. Here is a new log if needed View attachment 329956

Also something strange happened when I rebooted, the black and white screen that suggests running in safe mode was scrambled and almost unreadable. I selected Start Windows Normally and the Starting Windows graphic that appears before the Desktop was very buggy and strange. My computer didn't load windows and I've had to restart the computer again, this time the computer booted up normally.

Thanks for the help Arc I really appreciate it.
I've attached a snap of Speccy incase there is anything wrong with the link and I've attached a message Microsoft has displayed for the first time in the Action Center.

Here is a a Snapshot I published with speccy http://speccy.piriform.com/results/1ofnNIV1AqPAO4WOHSan6qa

I was able to play a game called Sleeping Dogs for over 3 hours with not problems at all. I played The Walking Dead game and the FPS drop from a solid 60 to less than 20 after an hour of playing, but no BSoD.

Edit: The snapshot from Speccy shows me running the computer for just under 3 hours. In that time I browsed the internet and streamed HD videos. Another thing I've just remembered Sleeping Dogs ran fine for the 3hrs + and the GPU temp went up to about 65c - 70c

Temps are fine.

But the message in action center is making me think. Have you got any such notification message?

I've never seen that notification pop up before or one like it, could the problem I'm experiencing be the drivers stopping responding or maybe my graphics card is finally on its way out?

Generally it is an indication of the GPU failure; if the issue is consistent irrespective of the driver version installed.

The graphics card was the problem! Over the last few months the performance on all games gradually got worse until the card finally decided to stop working. I am now using a new graphics card and everything is working fine.
Thank you for the help I really appreciate it.
