You have a really slow internet speed, it would lag when playing games.

Mine is 160MB, yours is 10MB...

It would help if when you was playing games everyone would come of the internet.

Man, that isnt slow when you are playing online games + ping is the main thing for lag and its 11ms, which means that is pretty good. The only problem is connectify cuz when I put modem cable directly on my laptop the game doesn't have lag.
And if yours is 160mb,you dont need all of that for online games, you need a better ping.
Another help?

Connectify can do nothing to your WiFi speed and capacity. The main factor is what kind of WiFi NIC you have on both machines, the one acting as a HotSpot and the one using the HotSpot signal to access the Internet.

What I mean is that the WiFi connection speed is determined by many factors. In your case, what are for instance the specs of your WLAN adapters, both on the computer sharing the WiFi and on computer using that shared connection?

An example: Let's say we share the WLAN connection on a brand new laptop with fast 802.11ac standard WLAN adapter which is capable of speeds up to 1300 Mbps on the 5 GHz band or up to 450 Mbps on 2.4 GHz band. Quite fast!

However, the computer using this shared connection is a bit old, having only an older 802.11b standard WLAN adapter. As the 802.11b is only capable of 10 Mbps, that's the absolute maximum speed user can get using this shared connection, however fast the sharing computer WLAN adapter is. The slower (inferior) of two WLAN adapters is the one setting the theoretical limits. As you certainly know you get almost never the maximum theoretical speeds with WiFi so this connection could have an average speed as low as 3 to 5 Mbps.

Other deciding factors are the distance between the two computers, possible connection or frequency issues and so on.

You will need a faster internet connection. Its quite simple. You cannot have multiple people on a connection that slow plus you trying to play online games. Isn't going to happen. That kind of speed is good for email and websites. Playing games online might work, but add other people and now its going to lag hard. Everything will. Its different when your simply copying files from one PC or another, then that is determined more by router speed. But you cannot squeeze more out of a slow connection with what your trying to do. A nice router will help with good internet speeds but you have a very slow connection. So any g router will do. Buying a better router/upgrading network equipment is not going to improve your situation.

Your internet speed is just fine. The problem is you're gaming over WiFi, which is not good for games that rely on low latency. I have 50 meg at home but when I play Diablo 3 on my laptop on WiFi I get lag spikes. As soon as I disable WiFi and connect my Ethernet cable no more lag spikes.

So, pretty much not a ton of options for you other than stop using WiFi.

Well my friend as far as I am concerned and after seeing what you have said to the others and myself you are not worth helping as you seem to know all the answers anyway.

As for reporting yourself I think you are doing a really fine job for yourself on that score. Perhaps you might try boring the life out of others on another forum with your total lack of courtesy and manners - thinking of it maybe you already have? and leave us to help those who really need it.:sarc:

Since when is 10mbps download good for gaming online?

Sure if you are playing chess online. People that play with this sort of internet connection are the main reason people get kicked out and everyones game lags.

You should be gaming online only with a 20mbps at least.

But that is not factoring everyone sharing that connection.

Agreed on wired though, always best to be wired when possible-especially for gaming.

Speed is not needed for online game play, latency is king when it comes to gaming. Latency anywhere in the process causes glitching or lag. You're not sending or receiving much data, but what little data is being sent/received needs to arrive with as little delay as possible. A 10meg connection with 20ms latency to the server is better than 50 meg connection with 100ms latency.

Good :)

And you are right. But I believe in this particular case the OP needs more speed for what they are trying to achieve so that everyone has decent results. That is why they came to this forum in the first place. If things were working well for him he would not be here. The only other option I can think of is using a router with a feature for prioritizing bandwidth. But not all routers have this feature. Still though, either way with that speed someone will suffer on the net.

I also suggest running pingtest.net

That will give a more accurate reading. Sadly It requires java, so make sure to uninstall it after you're finished.

Your awesome for reading this.
andrew129260 even if you have 1mbps internet speed and you have a good latency, you can play online like a boss without lagging, and if I am asking for help here it doesn't mean that I am total stupid for pc, and my ping is great too.If u really think that it should be at least 20mbs you are wrong and ask who ever u want about it.

tommyg you are absolutely right. But it lags even if only one device is connected.
