Firefox 34.0.5 freezes constantly

This problem has been bugging me for quite some time and I'm really desperate to fix this. Previously, my firefox version was 33.0 and I've started to get some hanging and unresponsive script when I'm playing facebook games. Hence, I've updated my firefox to the latest one which is version 34.0.5 thinking it would solve my problem, but it is very much worse now.

It freezes at very random moments that I couldn't track what problem is it. I've resetted firefox, uninstalled and reinstalled back, start in safe mode, disabling each extension to see what causes the problem but to no avail. It even freezes when I'm ONLY loading a few (less than 5) tabs.

I have also did the following methods but nothing helps as well :
1. Updating Adobe and Shockwave Flash to the latest version
2. Option > General > unchecked the hardware acceleration
3. Disabling Protected Mode in Flash by adding 'ProtectedMode=0' to the "mms.cfg" file. (This solved the unresponsive shockwave script)

Please help me as I'm really desperate to solve this. Thank you

Reinstalling Fx rarely fixes anything, as nearly all problems are located in the Fx Profile, not in the program itself.

As you did not mention Hardware Acceleration, try turning it off, as that often solves odd problems:
It is found in the Fx Options/Advanced/General menu.

If that does not help, it is time to try a new profile. The best instructions are found at http://kb.mozillazine.org/Creating_a_new_Firefox_profile_on_Windows . The site is being cantankerous as of this writing, so you might encounter difficulty in accessing the file.

I had similar "not responding" and script issues in Firefox. I turned off Hardware Acceleration and Firefox became so slow it was unusable so I turned it back on. In stead of creating a new profile I reset Firefox by following the instructions in this link:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/reset-firefox-easily-fix-most-problems
So far it seems to have resolved my issues.

Odd; for some reason I havent gotten the 34.0.5 I just have 34 and it says its up to date. When did you get that version and where from?

Edit: nevermind this one; I saw in downloading firefox that the setup file is for 34.0.5 but if you are having issues with it Im probably just gonna stick with the one i have which is 34 unless it auto updates at some point.

I have resetted firefox, create a new profile but the problem still persists. Turning back on hardware acceleration didn't work either.

[As an aside, and you are hardly the only person to do this, there is no such word as "resetted." What you did was to reset Firefox.]

Given your lack of success, I am at the point of only being able to guess, and that would be that you have either an out-of-date or incompatible video driver. Do I have any factual knowledge of that? No, I do not, I am only going on recollections of threads that I have noticed on mozillaZine referring to such problems.

There is a very brief discussion of this at Firefox crashes - MozillaZine Knowledge Base .

Thank you for the advice and I apologized as I didn't know there is no such word as 'resetted'.

I had a thought, but that was so scary that I got rid of it....

I know nothing whatsoever about Facebook games, so have not the slightest idea if this might help: IF those games use Flash, have you tried turning off hardware acceleration in Flash (not the one in Fx, which you wrote that you had turned off)?

To do that, right-click in a Flash video and select Settings.

Again, all I'm doing now is coming up with random thoughts to try to help you find and fix whatever it is that is causing the problem(s) for you. (Drat, I really need to stop thinking, it is really a bad thing to do...).

i was having the same trouble with my new laptop. It had windows 8.1 and latest firefox. i was able to solve the problem using this article. i thought i should share this info for the people who may be having the same trouble. Here's the link 3 Step Problem Fix/Solution for Continuous Mozilla Firefox Freezing | Blogiac

Oddly enough since version 34 I been having similar problems (I don't play FB games though) with 8 or more tabs open they would not switch properly at times and I was having to click other tabs and then scroll up and down to get some of the pages to render again... a royal pain in the ass... I had already tried everything mentioned here and then some, however the fix in this link craigqwer provided has almost fixed the problem, I say almost as it has still happened once or twice a day now rather than every 10 mins... so yeah thanks for that ;)
