IE 9 Upgradation Error " Internet Explorer did not finish installing"

Hi All,

This is my first thread.

I work for a reputed company as a System Engineer. Here we are using ACER Veriton Desktop, Windows 7 Enterprise, OS. We usually do MDT while installing OS, so all required softwares office, SEP, Adobe etc is included in the image.

Current Configuration:

Windows 7 Enterprise
4 Gb RAM
500 Gb hard disk
C drive space is free around 20 gb
Windows Updates we usually push through SCCM
There are no pending updates pending.
Offcource policy is applied.

The Things I tried before posting here:

Tried
1. Installing updates, but error
2. Removing from domain and install but no luck.

The default browser is IE 8. When I tried to update to IE 9 I got "Internet Explorer did not finish installing error."

And when I tried to install the updates before installing IE 9, error pops up saying this update is not applicable to this computer.

Someone please help me on this regard, because the users oracle application will work only on IE 9.

Planning to do Full format, but I would like to skip formatting. Any ideas on this would be very grateful.

Regards,
Satish

Welcome to Seven Forums satish030587. Try this, it can do no harm, and just may be your issue:

Try changing the date on the system to 1/1/2012 and then try installing IE9. Apparently the problem is that a certificate in the IE9 install package is out of date, so changing the clock back to a time before the certificate expires allows IE9 to install properly. Let us know if any success. A Guy
