I don't know but hope its not either a graphics card or motherboard issue but since my son played his Steam game on my PC it stopped working. I was so upset! This PC really wasn't meant for gaming! It was really a basic 500gb hard drive, 4g of memory on Windows 7 Enterprise all on an Acer motherboard but the case is hp. What the point was when I turn it on I see the the blue light come on and hear the sound like its coming on, 2 fans are running but I turn on monitor it says 'power safe mode'. Can't be the monitor because it works with my Hubby's laptop. Why isn't it booting up correctly? Could this be a graphics card issue? I'm not gonna waste anymore money buying stuff for this computer when I can just get another tower. Please someone help ASAP! [emoji17]

lascott7, please fill out your system specs for us.
Please fill out your System Specs

   Information
Your System Specs will help us to help you, and doing it in this manner will make them available to all helpers in every post and keep us from hunting for them. We ask that you fill them out in as much detail as possible including Desktop or Laptop, Model number if it is an OEM computer and all components with the Manufacturer and Model number if possible.

If you will go to your last post and click the 'System Specs' in the bottom left of the post, you will find a link to update your system specs. Please fill those out in as much detail as possible, making sure to click save at the bottom of the page. If you would like to know what we would like, you can click 'My System Specs' at the bottom left of this post to see mine. If you do not know what your components are, this will help you accomplish this task. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/180324-system-info-see-your-system-specs.html

When you try to boot it, what do you see? Do you see the Manufacturer's logo? Can you boot into bios? If you have the installation DVD, boot into the DVD and see if you get any video.

OK sure I'll try to do that. But I am on Tapatalk so does that mean I will have to access this forum in a web browser I'll be able to access that?

If I understand your question, yes. Your web browser should be able to access this forum. The first time you will have to sign in, but after that you should be able to come here and do most anything. Also, the questions I asked. Can you get to BIOS?

I don't have your system specs or I may be able to help a little more. But, does your computer have LED lights on the board? Some of the more recent ones have LED lights which will point out where the problem is. Your manual would tell you that.

Most monitors are set to where you select the type of input you are using. For example, if you are using a DVI cable, set the monitor to DVI or it won't recognize the signal. What cable did you use to connect your Husband's laptop to it? Try the same cable with your computer.

I skimmed through the thread, didn't see any mention of it, does your screen display anything when you turn the computer on? No POST screen? Nothing?

Update:
I just saw in your original post what shows on the screen... does your motherboard have on-board video you could connect the monitor to?

It just runs but sits there with nothing on screen but from the monitor it says safe mode or something. Used to say no signal.
