BSOD (?) when playing games!

Hi there!

So there. Since some time ago, when I game, my computer will completely freeze up. There's absolutely nothing I can do, and I have to hard reboot my computer. This time, after a freeze in Diablo 3 (It's practically unplayable at this point, I freeze after 5-10 minutes), I waited a while before rebooting and had this message after I did:

So this is a BSoD without me ever getting the blue screen or something? Not sure how this works, but oh well. With this error, I got a dump. So! Here's hoping one of you guys are able to see what the issue can be. I've attached the ZIP with the information.

Bumping does absolutely no good. It actually slows things down.

While you are waiting please do this tutorial by Brink so members know what they are working with. Make sure you include you power supply and security programs you use.

I've updated my system specs. Thanks for the help.

I have not seen anything out of the ordinary as far as temperatures goes lately. My GTX660 went up to 70C max and my CPU to ~60C.

I'll add; the freezes are getting more frequent. I used to be able to play a bit before I'd BSoD, but now, I'll freeze after a minute or two. I've done full reinstalls of the games, and obviously nothing changed.

Didn't get more dumps either, so the one I linked above is still all I have.

The manufacturer of the system (motherboard) is Gigabyte.

Your product key is an OEM key that can only (legally) be activated on an Asus PC/Laptop.

We will need for you to buy a new license for your PC and then go through the posting instructions again, then post a new DM Log. Once your computer has a legal product key, we can continue helping you with your BSOD problem.

Basically the person who built the computer for you gave you a counterfeit copy of Windows 7. If it is a computer shop, I would call them and tell them what they did and that they need to offer you a legitimate product key or you will turn them into Microsoft.

If this was a friend, you need to be more careful and tell them you want a legal copy of Windows.

You shouldn't have to reformat, just buy a new product key from Microsoft (or another authorized vendor) and update your product key with the legal one. You need a Windows 7 Professional license which is around $100 USD.

Alright, thanks! Do you guys have any recommendations for a authorized vendor? I just talked with a rep on the Microsoft official site; they no longer sell Windows 7. You can only buy Windows 8, and I'd like to avoid upgrading to 8 for now, since I just really like 7.

Let me try to explain.

According to what Gator is seeing.
You have a Windows 7 COA key to activate your system that belongs on a Acer computer.

Because you have a Gigabyte motherboard your computer is considered a Gigabyte computer not a Acer computer.

You can not properly activate Windows 7 with out the proper COA key that matches that computer and version of Windows 7. Any COA key will not due.

This will explain what COA means.

What is the Windows Certificate of Authenticity?

OEM means Original Equipment Manufacture. Like a Dell or a Acer.

You can buy Windows 7 from many places. Local computer store, Amazon, Walmart ect. Just stay away from places like Ebay.

Once you buy a legal Windows 7 we will gladly give guidance on how to do a Clean Install.
