I am in the process of building a home server out of the oodles of spare PC bits I have aquired over the years and thought to use an ATI Rage Pro graphics card in it as it has no fan, thus less noise (plus I only want it in there to set it up and allow the PC to boot after, as the box will used without a monitir after set up). The only problem is, is that it's the wrong way round. If I remove the metal bit off the end can I still use it but with the monitor connected inside the case?

What?

Please clarify. Pics might help.

I'll try and get some in a bit.

Basically the notch in the AGP slot is the wrong end for the ATI Rage Pro.

-------- --- AGP Slot (MSI KT4 Ultra m/b)

--- -------- ATI Rage Pro thing that sits in AGP slot.

If I remove the metal bracket thin***ajig that braces the card to the PC case can I insert it in the slot backwards?

No problems, found my answer, the ATI Rage Pro is an AGP 1x/2x card and the slot is AGP 4x/8x so the answer is no.
