How do you fix corrupted files found by SFC /SCANNOW?

Hi Tom,

Don't know how to get in touch with you some other way.

My post is now a seprate thread, but listed as 'Problem with Web Access.' It is, however, really a SFC /scannow problem like in this thread. SFC can't fix all the problems it finds. I have the CBS-log but have no idea where to look for what I should fix.

I'm reluctant tot do a repair install, since only explorer seems affected and I don't want to mess anything else up.

I'd appreciate it very much, if, in time, you could take a look and advise me.

Thank you. To give you the best and most accurate information to work with I would like to run SFC / SCANNOW again in a couple of days and then attach the log file.

I am having the same issue with the op. I am on windows 7 ultimate and sfc cannot fix the corrupt files. Would tom982 be able to look at my log if posted? Thx.

Hi Everyone, newbie here.

I am having the same issue. I did a SFC scannow because am unable to open IE 11 and Chrome. Found and removed Funmoods (I know, Joe is not longer working for us) Chrome works but IE 11 stills does open. So 2 problems. I only need IE because we use Skype for work. So the Windows Resource Protection Corrupt seems to be more important!

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated!

See if you have any of these installed, if so uninstall them, then hide them when they pop back up in windows update.
Right click the update to hide it.

I did and it corrected the issue. What were these updates for anyway?

Actually, it is enough to uninstall a KB3022345 and the error no longer appears!

You`d have to read up on what each and every update on my list is for, I did, that`s how I compiled the list.

One of them is the update that will update your PC to the Technical Preview of Windows 10, another will enable MS to nag you to install Windows 10 when it comes out.

I hope you do not have auto update turned on.

Auto update off! Thanks, I now make it a habit to look the updates up now that windows 7 is on the way out just never know what to expect.

Are you not paying attention ?

You should be checking every update yourself before you even think about installing it.

One of the updates is to allow or fix the Russian ruble on your keyboard, my point being, you do not need every update MS puts out, and you should always see what it is before you install it.

Windows Update should be set to inform you of new updates, but let you decide whether to download and install them.

If you want it on auto, that`s your choice too.
