32-bit to 64-bit installation product key

Hey
i have a question regarding the installation process. I am currently running the Windows 7 32-bit on my PC and it is compatible for the 64-bit version. The disk i used to install the 32-bit edition came in a box as part of a set with the 64-bit edition. i want to install the 64-bit edition on the same PC and remove the 32 bit so can i use the product key on the box for activating the 64-bit edition since there is only one product key and i have used it to activate the 32-bit edition already. And also will i lose the data already on the PC?

A key can be used for both the 32 and 64 bit.
You cannot have a 32 bit on one machine and 64 on another at the same time.
If your computer came with the 32 bit installed, you must always use the same machine.

Just do a clean install of 64 Bit on your current system.

Backup your data first.

You will have to re install your programs and drivers.

i wanna uninstall from the same pc that is running the 32-bit edition and install the 64-bit edition i just wanted to know if i can use the same product key cuz both CD's came in the same box and there is only one key provided

There is no uninstall, just backup your user data and format the HDD
Install the 64bit version and use the same key

Yes you can use either 32 or 64 bit with the same key, as long as only one is installed at a time. I would install 64 bit if you have more than 3gb RAM.
