Around 120GB SSD seems a good size for me (installed programs, some data and efficient imaging). Maybe I'll consider them disposable items provided I have recent system images and the price drops even further.

I was planning to get a 850 Pro but after the last "incident" i'm not that sure anymore. Perhaps i should get a sandisk extreme pro or an intel 730 with only 250MB write speeds? sigh.

Bill, I wonder the same about Total Bytes Written. I started using my 850 pro at 8th of April (80 days or so usage). 100GB of data on it (which 60GB is GTA V, but I haven't really played it). CrystalMark DiskInfo shows like this:

What I noticed was, with a pagefile set to 10GB each restart increased bytes written with that amount.

Is CrystalMark freeware? If not how much does it cost, and where can I download it?

I did a Google search and saw many download sites for version 4.xx but I see you have version 6.3.2

My first SSD was a Intel 510 series 120 GB.

In 2011 their was no discounts on cost.

It is still testing with the Intel Toolbox at 100%

Smart tells me Host Writes are 3.7 TB

Other than the one stated above I have with little use, but I don't expect any problems. I treat my SSD's like hard drives except defrag. I do not baby them.
If they die they die. I didn't buy them to look at. I bought them to use.

1- Intel 530/120 GB
1- Samsung EVO840/500 GB
2- Intel 730/240 GB

Prices have surly dropped. The Intel 730/240 GB were bought last Black Friday for about $110.00 @. Limit 2 per customer.

Update:
I just checked with my Intel Dealer and he is having no RMA with Intel SSD's.
The local school system got a few for testing a while back and liked them so much the school system bough another 400 Intel SSD's last week from him.

Testing by a bunch of kids in schools should be a good indication that SSD's work well.

If your SSD dies I wonder what techniques there are to ensure data cannot be accessed before returning the SSD.
