All of my systems still run fastest on XP 32-bit for the most part. Win7 is fun to play with, but I still prefer XP for raw speed, security, and functionality.

I pinned the executable file to my start menu. I run it more than once a month along with others. Some say that running during updates (once per month) will suffice, then after that it's obsolete, but how can that be? You can be infected anytime, so running it after that still should help? That's my logic.

It will run once during the install (some say), but I'm skeptical because when I manually run it the scan takes over an hour to complete. I run all my safety program scans often ... you never know when you'll pick up some nasty. I also pin the executable to my start menu so I don't forget to use it. I may be paranoid but the real issue is whether I'm paranoid enough.

Being paranoid is another layer of security.

Same here. There's nothing wrong with nondebilitating paranoia.
