It was a very slow install and it boots up extremely slow. I'm talking a good 15-16 mins before I reach the desktop. I went from XP to Windows 7. Any ideas?
Should work, however, bad idea. It seem that quite a few people have had the same problem (not sure why). A clean install from XP to seven is truly the best way to go. If you are going to buy a new copy of Win 7 it would be a good idea (unless you just want to fool around) to wait until you have the Win 7 version that is going to suit you later down the line.

Microsoft doesn't even allow that anymore. With the final version of Windows 7 people will need to do a clean install (the "upgrade" option in the installer is disabled). There are good reasons for it.

All of my systems still run fastest on XP 32-bit for the most part. Win7 is fun to play with, but I still prefer XP for raw speed, security, and functionality.
