Hey guys i own a Lenovo G50-80 with some modified specs ( removed DVD-Writer and put a SSD as main drive and change single channel 8GB Ramaxel with dual channel Kingston Ram ) :D
I'm a cellphone technician and some of drivers and applications doesnt support X64 windows and windows 8 or 10 so i decide to install Windows 7 x86 as a secondary OS (Dual boot)
but at the beginning of installation windows 7 installer doesnt detect my HDD nor SSD and shows a message that driver needed
i have disabled AHCI an use IDE and it doesn't correct :(
using legacy bios and the same result
what should i do?

Hi emprazol,

What you might need to do is to boot into your current OS and go to Disk Management and look for your SSD there.

Might happen that you haven't installed it correctly.

Hope this helps and put you on the right path!

Cheers!
Boris :)

Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
AHCI is best to leave activated it should be the default setting,

What makes you think your system is capable of using dual channel ram ?
How did you come up with that upgrade ?

Either way did you prep the ssd for clean install usually you wouldn't need to but it's good to clean it anyway
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/149969-ssd-install-transfer-operating-system.html

Prepare the SSD – You first have to initialize the SSD to create the MBR. You can do that with Disk Management or with this program (which you will need later anyhow).

Then you need to align the SSD and define an active partition on it. You use an elevated Command Prompt with the following commands:

Diskpart
List disk
Select disk n (where n is the number that was given for your SSD in List disk)
Clean
Create partition primary align=1024
Format fs=ntfs quick
Active (assuming you want to install an OS)
Exit

Thanks for your reply but non of them was the solution
after installing windows 7 on my HDD with a PC (not my laptop) non of USB port works so i guess the problem is Intel eXtensible USB controller
both USB2.0 ports and USB3.0 port controlled by same controller and windows 7 doesn't have a generic driver to pass installation section
so the solution is to put drivers of Intel eXtensibe USB controller to one of the drives and when installer asked for drivers browse it
and for your hint about dual channel ram
in single channel mode read benchmark was 11000MB and after dual channel 21000MB and about 4-5 FPS increase in games.
doesn't it fair?

emprazol, did I understand that you installed the OS on another computer then put it in the Laptop? If that is what you did, you are not going to have it run the best it can do. As far as the drivers, Windows 7 supports USB 2.0 natively. You have to install drivers for USB 3.0, but that can be done after the install. You should also use AHCI mode when installing. There is some problem if your Laptop cannot see the SSD. Either it is not connected properly, you have a bad cable connection or you have a bad SSD. Check your BIOS and make sure it is set to AHCI mode. The only reason it should ask for drivers before the install is if it is part of a raid array or you have a bad installation disk. Windows 7 has native AHCI drivers, it doesn't need them installed before the install. There is no i core CPU that I am aware of that cannot run dual channel mode and should be run that way.

Where did you get your installation media? If you got it through a Torrent or some other means besides Microsoft, that is most likely most of your problem.

If windows is asking you for drivers during the install, then you did not create the installer properly.

Obviously if you removed the dvd writer, you are installing with a usb stick, correct ?

Use this program to put the iso file on the usb stick and try again.

WiNToBootic bootable usb drive windows vista/7/8 - Bootable USB | Bootable USB

May we ask where you got your Windows 7 32 bit iso file/installer from ??? or did you purchase windows 7 ?

How did you get it ?

Download a fresh iso file from here.

Microsoft DigitalRiver Mirror

Install and use utorrent version 2.2.1 and do not installl any other garbage softawre if it offers any.

Download uTorrent 2.2.1 for Windows - OldVersion.com

I would think that you would have bought Windows 7, seeing that you need a code to activate it, so I don`t understand why you`re being asked for drivers during the install.

If you don`t have a key then of course you are wasting your time, not trying to sound harsh, just pointing it out, but I`m sure you know that :)

Thanks for guide
as i said before there is only one USB controller on this laptop model and its not detectable by windows 7 cause its USB V3.0
some laptops may pass this level with changing Bootable USB to Black ones (V2.0) not Blue ones (V3.0)
but this model doesnt have separate USB controller for V2.0 and its controlled by same controller of V3.0 ( Intel eXtensibe )
