[HELP!] Windows 7 x86 installs but x64 BSOD on new Ryzen x570 build!

Hi everyone,

I hope everyone's well.
I've been a lurker of tis site for many many years and like many of you I am still a Windows 7 user.

Just yesterday I decided to upgrade my PC build which now included the Ryzen 5950x and Asrock x570 Pro4 motherboard.
To my small surprise it didn't boot all the way through, it came the the Starting Windows logo and restarts into an endless loop.

Usually doing a Start-up repair from the installation disc would solve this issue but as soon it's done with "Windows Loading Files" it then suddenly BSOD.
HOWEVER...when using an x86 disc for repair, it loads completely.

I have since experimented different methods, but the one that was ought to be fullpoof just doesn't make sense.

I'm using a dummy/spare 3TB hard drive and I thought to do a fresh install of Windows 7 x64, but like before, after "Windows Loading Files" it then BSOD.
BUT...when I use a x86 disc, the setup boots and the installation completes!
I even boot straight into the freshly installed operating system!

This has me scratching and pulling my hair, I went through BIOS, tweaked settings and tried different combinations but the system just doesn't seem to like anything 64bit, even thoigh the hardware is all under spec, the last thing it would want is 32bit anything but yet it gladly accept it!

Can anyone help me out here or explain what is going on? I would REALLY appreciate it!

However I am still questioning and still baffled on the fact that x86 was able to completely installed.

Surely there can't be any compatibility on the x86 disc opposed to the x64, can they? :huh:

Apparently it is an acpi problem with asrock motherboards and win7. Maybe it is only a problem with win7x64

others such a gigabyte 570 and I believe msi 570 dont have that problem

Ohh I see, that's very interesting. I am not entirely familiar with the term ACPI.
What is it exactly and is there any way around it on Asrock motherboards??

Also in the one your links where it is suggested to use one of the Gen2 builds, I've done that last night, specifically Windows 7 SP1 X64 Ultimate 3in1 OEM MULTi-7 AUG 2023 {Gen2} and by just doing a fresh install onto the hard drive, I am again put through a bootloop ending at the Starting Windows animated logo.

I thought to just give a small update, really just to inform, Ihave went into the BIOS and I disabled everything (or as much as I can) related to ACPI.

Also Secure Boot off, CSM Enabled and Legacy enabled from UEFI.

After all this it still fails, i.e. nothing has changed

Is threre any way to try and get this running on an Asrock motherboard perhaps?

I've done both.

My original hard drive with Windows 7 x64 installed is on 2TB (this is the one that causes the endless bootloop upon the Starting Windows animation logo).

The dummy hard drive that I'm currently using to do endless installs of different OSes is a 3TB that i have either partitioned a 2TB space on MBR or 3TB on GPT.
Both of which wields the same results.

If it helps, this is the BSOD I get from either a loading into an x64 disc/image (on original HDD) or after a fresh install on dummy HDD.
