Looks like the beginning of a fire pit to me. Rumors are that bear is a little tough and greasy when cooked. I try to stay away from it for obvious reasons.

Although I do like hot smoking Lady Bears. I do have a age limit though. From 18 to 80 and I stick to this rule of mine.
