GA-Z170X-UD5...... "Windows USB Installation Tool"

Building a new system. Just had a question on installing the "Windows USB Installation Tool" BEFORE installing Win 7. According to my MOBO spec's.............GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 1151 - GA-Z170X-UD5 (rev. 1.0) by the operating system section, it states..... "Please download the "Windows USB Installation Tool" from GIGABYTE's website and install it before installing Windows 7". How exactly can I do that BEFORE installing the OS? Using Win 7 64 bit clean install. Thanks for the help.

Your link is to the specs of your board, could you provide a link or wording to exactly what it is you`re talking about ?

It`s actually under support>utilities , you don`t actually need it, you can use any program you want to put your install files on the usb stick, but if you`re installing 7 then use a dvd, it`s sooo much easier.

But then maybe there`s something magical about Gigabytes software, but anyway it`s a program to put the iso file on the stick, or after you put the iso file on the stick, it`s not something you install before you install windows, as you`ve already guessed.

I downloaded and extracted it and this is what it contains, I assume you would add it to the iso after you format the stick, but it looks like it might have some usb and sata controller software needed during a W7 install, you`d have to find Gigabytes instructions on how to use it.

Save yourself a lot of time and agony and just install with a dvd

But then, if the board has at least 3 usb 2.0 ports you shouldn`t have any issues installing 7 with a usb stick.
