Opening a batch file will run the instructions - you need to select edit to check the contents, or open notepad and load the .BAT file

The message appears to relate to an attempt to open a Zip file that is actually empty or corrupted

Extract the .bat file (or the entire archive) and work with the extracted file.

Like Barman58 indicated, the default action is to run the commands in the file. If you want to view or edit it, right-click it and select Edit.

My best guess then is that the archive is corrupt. Does WinRAR have an archive test feature? Have you tried other software such as 7-zip?

If you have notepad open just drag the .bat file from explorer onto the notepad window. Post a screen shot of the notepad window after the bat file is dropped on it.

This is a long shot, you might check the anti-virus and/or anti-malware quarantine pots 'cause for some reason, such sometimes, not often, will "scan and catch" contents and move 'em into quarantine. Not likely here, but, it can't hurt to check the pots.

how do i check the quarantine pots on avast?

The easiest way i know of is to right click on the Avast Notification Area icon,
and then left click on Virus Chest

Save the batch file that is attached to this post to your desktop.
(The batch file just contains the pause command.)

If the file shows on your desktop...
...then AVAST left it alone during the download scan.

Double click on the batch file...
...let us know what happens.

If the batch still on your desktop...
...then AVAST left it alone during the open file process.

Right click on the batch file...
...select Edit from the context menu
...let us know what happens.
