New DDR3 RAM compatibility with old DDR3

My PC already had 4GB DDR3 Ram. Here are its specifications taken from CPUZ

Today I ordered another RAM of 4GB so that my PC will have a total of 8GB RAM.

I wanted to confirm whether my new Ram which I'm buying would be compatible with my old RAM considering the difference in their frequency as shown in the images.

Possibly if you don't plan on using the old stick
You'd have to post the Mainboard section and google the mother board model to see what is compatible with it.

I plan to use them together. So I'll have 8GB together.

You're actually better off buying the same HyperX stick for better compatibility.

According to this spec's page ddr1333 is standard for that board
ECS H61H2-M2(1.0) LGA 1155 Intel H61 HDMI Micro ATX Intel Motherboard-Newegg.com
No telling is 1866 will work or not

This is not your exact board but it does show the same 1333 max some how I doubt it will work by it's self

I'm only doubtful that it doesn't mention cl 10 which is of the RAM that I'm buying.

All I can say is Crucial has a 100% compatibility warranty so it's a no brianer to get it from them
You can chat with them and see if it will work with the existing stick.

I live in India. Does that warranty apply to me? Moreover, I'm buying from Amazon India website which specifically caters to India.

Ohh. So, that does it, yeah? Sorry for asking again. Screenshots is saying the Megahertz compatibility as true I guess?


I can put RAMS of different frequencies together, right?


My brand of RAM is Matrex. Yuck. I couldn't find that brand on Amazon. But it's been running nicely for more than 5 years in my PC.

Weird thing is frequency is written as something else on the sticker

Normally I'd say no you can't mix ram
I'd count on buying two sticks
And quite a few cans of compressed air

The thinig is, your old stick is running at 1333 MHz and the one you ordered is 1866 MHz, your memory will only run at the slower speed, in your case 1333.

Some day get another stick of 1866, same make and model.

Mike is correct, you should have gotten a 2 x 4 GB kit of new memory.
