Laptop DDR3 RAM compatibility

Hey guys,

I was planning on getting two 4GB Corsair Vengeance sticks to upgrade the RAM in my laptop (link)
But after checking my laptops specifications online (link) I noticed it states that the maximum expandability of the RAM is 4GB...

Am I correct in assuming that I will only be able to fit one 4GB stick into my laptop? Or would I need two 2GB sticks? (Or could I just ignore it and jam two 4GB sticks in there?)

Hello Gamer mate it states the max RAM that machine will support so putting in 8GB I don't think will make any difference - if it lets work at all. If it were me I would just put in one stick 4GB because it does away with making sure that the two sticks are evenly matched (matched pair). Having said that two matched pair sticks will use the two channels in the machine.

Oh yea better ask on the 1-4gb slick each slot may also have restrictions to 2gb each :/

Yep Mike I think the two slots are meant to be used as channels as far as I know anyway.

Yep my Acer board has a 2gb max per slot so that is as large as it can use even though it has a 8gb max ram so I couldn't use anything but 4x2gb pack for the maximum.
The laptop might have the same limit Crucial scanner might confirm that ?
