i just installed VBox and have now finished installing service packs on my virtual XP install.

i cant really see what XP-MODE would offer me over the 'seamless' mode that VBox has.

also guys, you think virtual install's need anti-virus?

I use the new Security Essentials in my vBox virtual partition. It's free and seems to work well. And then I have the router firewall on top of that.

Sorry for misleading information. Typing the post in question I just opened Virtual Machines folder and wrote what I saw there. Downloaded this some weeks ago honestly thinking this is Chrome OS alpha or something as the first news told, named the virtual machine so.

The OS as far as we mere mortals are concerned can be considered as pure vapourware.

Google *might* or *might not* be currently working on this but if it were anywhere near release versions would have appeared on the torrents by now. If MS couldn't prevent stuff from apperaing in the wild google would have NO chance.

I suspect from the original typical Corporate publicity shouts they've been bought back to reality with a bump.

Desigining a new OS isn't a trivial matter -- if it's just another Linux distro then nobody is going to take any notice -- it's got to be different and have as they say "Bling".

Not there yet by a long way.

(Cloud computing is another matter -- I suspect they are concentrating on this rather than worrying about Desk top OS'es).
