Hi gurus,

These days I constantly met BSOD issue, in different situations.
The error codes are 0xBE or 0x50.

I've checked the memory using mdsched.exe but no error was found.

This issue current happened constantly and heavily infected my work, cause I have opened many applications.
And as BSOD occurred, all the other apps were over and all jobs couldn't be saved.

The DM log has been uploaded in the attachment.

Could you please help check what's the matter and how to resolve it?
Thank you very much!

Best Regards,
Clement

Hello and welcome newfree now first up see this
Now before we can help we do need to know what is in your machine so please do this System Info - See Your System Specs
or either enter the specs of your system in your forum profile the specs will appear when we click on that little box bottom left of the post screen it is for me the preferable option as it is easy. As you may appreciate it is very hard when you don’t know what one is working with for example a diesel or petrol engine.

Now this is pointing me at least towards an issue with memory

Code:
[COLOR="Red"]BugCheck 50[/COLOR]

You mentioned you have done a memtest and the one you did mention is not one that I have heard of or used and there is only one that we recommend so see this pre typed ditty of mine
Now to make absolutely we are on the same page the memtest linked here is the*only*one we recommend and it MUST be run for at least 8 passes or you may as well not bother. It is rather lengthy and best left for a downtime for that machine - overnight is good. Having said that you can stop the test if errors show up while you are around and then it is a matter of tracking down the bad stick of RAM.* RAM - Test with Memtest86+
Now it is not aimed at you it was written when I was replying to another thread and I kept this to save on typing it up all over again.

Hello ICIT2LOL,

Thank you for your quick response.
As for your instructions:
1)
System Info - See Your System Specs
[Answer]: I have finished it just now by the automatic method. Please check it.

2)
Memory test:
[Answer]: I have tried Memtest86+ with the newest version 5.01 and made a bootable USB using "Auto-installer for USB Key (Win 9x/2k/xp/7)". While after I clicked restart and choose this bootable USB to restart, it was staying at a blinking cursor and couldn't start the memory test process. As the memory is NVMe type DDR4 memory, I don't know if it's this reason that Memtest86+ couldn't start the memory test process.
Do you have any other idea to check the memory or Memtest86+ doesn't support NVMe type memory or else I made some mistake?

Thank you very much!
Best Regards,
Clement

Hmm I am not really sure re the DDR4 but I cannot see why it would not check it.

I might ask for some help in the meantime someone will know what the go is.

I just used Memtest 86+ (version 5.01) for 14 hours on 16 gigs of ram. (DDR-4)
I would suggest using a CD/DVD with Memtest 86+.
Reset you boot order and boot from the CD/DVD.

I did have to reboot 2 times before the CD would boot.

Yes mate I am with Jack on this as I prefer a CD as opposed to a stick to me they are so fiddly to use and like Jack says it does sometimes need a few tries to get it to go as with a lot of other bootable softwares;)

Hi torchwood,
For these errors such as TrueCrypt.exe, as it's running TrueCrypt when the BSOD occurred, in this way there are such errors.
Thus I think it's the result of BSOD, not the root cause of BSOD.
And have you found some clues from the memory dump log?
Thank you very much!

Best Regards,
Clement

Hi Jack & ICIT2LOL,

Thank you very much and currently I could use Memtest by CD.

While now it has tested over 90 hours and the state is still running, on the other hand, the it shows "** Pass complete, no errors, press Esc to exit **".

So has this test been finished or else shoul I continue to wait?

Thanks a lot!

Hello Clement mate there is no attachment and 90 hours is a very long time for it to be running even on a slow machine. But anyway if the readout looks like what is in my pic and the pass count has passed 8 as indicated then of course stop the test.

If there are errors there is no mistaking that there are because there will be red lines across the screen see example pic .

Ok Clement mate the RAM is ok looking at the readout 25 passes no wonder it was taking so long;)

Now just reading back through the other posts it seems to me the TrueCrypt may have something to do with the issues you are having. Plus the Bugcheck 50 may involve the video drivers and I think that an update for your card might not go amiss. Drivers | GeForce

I am just wondering too if you ran that link that Torchwood gave you if not then I think you should.

Hi ICIT2LOL,

Do you mean that I could stop MemTest86+ now?

Sorry as if restarting a new memory test it'll take an extremely long time, and currently it's taken over 110 hours:(

I don't know if I could stop this memory test process at this time.

Thanks a lot!

Clement

Do you mean that I could stop MemTest86+ now?

Absolutely Clement mate it only has to be for at least 8 passes;) The long time it took was really because of the sheer amount of memory you have on board.

Just so you will know for any future problems with the memory if for example you had found errors then it means that after you do you would have to take out all of the sticks and test each one individually to find the bad stick.
Plus if the sticks come up ok then it is then a matter of finding the bad slot using a good stick because slots can go bad as well - not that common but they can - and that does take a lot of time as you might imagine.

Hi John,
Sorry I have a question.
Do you mean that MemTest86+ will never stop if the memory tests are finished without problems?
If not, how many types of memory test will MemTest86+ do?
Thanks a lot!
BR,
Clement

Hello Clement mate no need to be sorry one of the Admin members here always says something along the lines of "There is no such thing as a stupid question - just the person who never asks!" not that I am suggesting you are any such thing LOL!!

Now I am assuming the test would go on forever if one had forgotten it was running and even if the test ran overnight you would soon see if there were any result when you came to use the machine again;)

The other thing you ask is - as far as I am aware this test is used for the main RAM memory I have never heard of it being used for any other form of memory for example the GPU memory. Of course I always stand to be corrected.

Hi John,
Thank you very much!

Currently it has taken 44 types of memory tests and all of these tests have been passed without error. The detail is as the following:
User Media - TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting

I'm afraid it will continue with no end if no error occurs because the status is always 'running...'. In fact I would like to see the status to be 'finished' before I cancel this memory test, and thus it would make me think it's a FULL memory test. To tell the truth, this BSOD issue has puzzled me very vey much: many times when I restarted it's BSOD, many times when I was writing something or working it's BSOD; so I have to be more cautious. I would like to know if this memory test could be finished at the status of 'finished' and thus it could tell whether the memory is indeed good in one FULL process. In this way I could exclude the memory problem at least when I meet the BSOD problem later as I have finished a FULL process of memory test.

In your experience, have you seen the MemTest86+'s status is 'finished'? If yes, how many times of passes is it?

Thanks again,
BR,
Clement

No mate just close it down now (press ESC) because 8 - 10 passes it suffice you don't need to keep it running. I have to say that I have never run a memtest that long I always shut down after 8 minimum or 10 passes.

Your pic tells the story mate all clear for the RAM.:)

It was just a start on eliminating the hard ware side of things. I shall have to go back and check the thread out again from the start to see if there is something else that is the problem.

Ok now I am wondering what AV you are using and I would again run these if you haven't already
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
Disk Check < if necessary include the /f switch and if this does not make any improvement then just run this switch instead /r in the command line as per Option2
Run these in safe mode and the sfc often best run for two to three runs – you can leave out the /r switch in ckdsk if you feel it not necessary

if no fix then these

SUPERAntiSpyware | Remove Malware | Remove Spyware - AntiMalware, AntiSpyware, AntiAdware!
Malwarebytes | Malwarebytes Premium
AdwCleaner Download
ADW download from bleeping computer delete any rubbish found with the malware scans
(NB If you are running Kaspersky as the main AV then it might need disabling it when trying ADW because it does not like it at times)

It would also be an idea to reseat all the sticks and cards you have in the machine it could be something that simple. Back in post #7 Roy asked for a run of that link did you do that yet if so what did it come back as?
