Hello all:
Regarding the directory "C:\Users\*username*\Favorites", is this folder strictly for IE8? I would love it if it supports Firefox.

So, IE8 only? If so I'm putting that sucker into hidden mode. :)

Any help/suggestions, etc are very much appreciated!

I appreciate the link, but you misunderstood my question. I am talking about the folder. I do not ever use IE8. I would like to see my Firefox favorites in that folder, and the ability to access them via Firefox, not IE8.

Your home must be very clean. :)

Given that Firefox now stores its bookmarks in an SQL-Lite database table, it would be impractical and less efficient to store Firefox bookmarks in file format all the way over in IE's Favorites folder, especially for those users who never use IE.

I say ignore that folder, or if you really have to go ahead and hide it.

And for those who do use both browsers, IMO the Xmarks extension is a much better way to synchronize bookmarks with favorites across browsers.

Yes, my home is pretty immaculate. My idea of a mess is an overturned shoe.:)

I'll just go ahead and hide that folder. Thanks for the explanation!

Also, I agree with you on Xmarks. I couldn't live without it!

Thanks again!

Hmm. For some reason it's not letting me hid it. Any ideas? Delete it? (I don't think that's a good idea, but I could be wrong)

What Favorites folder are you hiding? As a test I just hid the Favorites folder under my logged-in ID.

Definitely don't recommend deleting it.

And the responses to the OP's questions were unnecessarily ridiculous. They asked a very simple question and got two completely unrelated answers.

I'm wanting to hide C:\Users\*username*\Favorites

And yeah, I figured that deleting it wasn't a good idea. :)

Okay. I was stupid. After marking it hidden, I hit refresh. The folder was still there, but upon closing and reopening Explorer it is now hidden! Hurrah!

Sounds like you have "show hidden folders/files" turned on. If so, you won't be able to hide it.

Edit: I see that you solved it.

The only thing "unrelated" here is your arrogance. You have a problem with the quality of answers from people who are volunteering their time to try to help? Go start your own board and then crap on all the volunteers of all experience levels who take the time to contribute.
