Screwdriver for laptop

I have something stuck in my laptop and I need to unscrew this, but I'm not sure what screwdriver I should use. Does anyone know? Thanks.

You need a security Bit.

Looks like an ordinary torx-head screw to me. Something like this should do the trick.

I don't see that you need the special "security" or "tamper-proof" screwdrivers. Those types of screws have a tiny male pin poking up in the middle of the screw head, which I don't see in your photo. Those tamper-proof screws need a torx screwdriver with a hole in the middle to accommodate that male pin, as seen here.

That said, the tamper-proof drivers work on normal torx screws all the same, so it can't hurt to get tamper-proof versions if you wish. I'm just pointing out you don't need the special security version.

I agree with dg1261 just need a torx bit driver for that screw

Take your laptop to the hardware store and ask them for a driver that fits that screw.

PS: That's definitely a Torx screw. Those bit-kits are nice, if you have a handle that takes that kind of 1/4" bits. They will fit in most electric screwdrivers.

Yes, but a laptop is the last place that you want to use an electric screwdriver. Especially for novice repairs.
