How to make the Address Bar longer?

I usually have my windows set to about half the screen width, which allows me to copy back and forth between two windows.

One problem is that the address bar is really short, even when I reduce the size of the search bar. I wish I could always see the full path, but I can rarely see much of it.

Is there any way to make the address bar longer? Perhaps hiding the 'back' and 'forward' buttons, or hiding the search bar unless F3 is pressed?

Hi Marty McFly, You can move the mouse pointer in between the address bar and search bar until it turns

into double arrows, left click and hold the address bar and search to get the length you want.:D

Hi Marty,
if your using FF, or one of its spin-offs.
Get rid of the location bar via customise, or vice versa.

Hi Marty McFly, My answer is the only way I know of to lengthen the address bar, I do not think you can

hide the search bar, but maybe someone else knows a way to do it.:D

Right-mouse click on Task Bar & select: "Show windows stacked"

If what you are trying to do is see the full address bar from within your chosen browser, then you can always use a Windows 7 feature called Show windows stacked:

Code:
Right-mouse click on Task Bar and select: "Show windows stacked" from the pop-up menu.

Selecting this will configure all open windows to display full width, at the slight penalty of sharing the display height with each open window. However you still can fine tune the sizes of the windows borders in much the same way as Ethel describes, by using the mouse pointer to drag the edges out or in. Should be okay for the way you are proposing to use the desktop.
