Hi...

I did a search on the site but to no avail. So...here's my issue

I have an All in One HP 23-r111 running and AMD A6-6310 APU with AMD Radeon R4 Graphics

It had Win 10 but I wanted 7 for personal reasons. Everything loaded OK except the Graphics, Ethernet and two USB ports on the side of the machine. (the 4 on the back are working)

Network

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8168&SUBSYS_2B3B103C&REV_10

USB controller

PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_7814&SUBSYS_2B3B103C&REV_11

Thank you in advance for any suggestions

You are just about there. You need to do one more thing: Go to http://pcidatabase.com/ and do a search on either the VEN number or the DEV number.

For example, for your network driver: the VEN number is 10EC, and the DEV number is 8168. So if I go to http://pcidatabase.com/ and search on the DEV number, I find that there are several devices listed. The one which matches on both the Device ID and the Vendor ID is a Realtec device. There is a hyperlink in the right column, and when I click on it, I find additional information about the various devices from this vendor. I scroll down till I find 0x8168, and there I find all the info I need to download the driver.

Try this and see if it works. I am certain that you will have success by following this method.
-------------
Another way to find the network driver: If you have wifi in the computer, connect to the internet that way, or connect another Ethernet adapter to the computer, and connect with it; then do a Windows update to see if it finds a driver for the built-in Ethernet adapter. If it does, then install only that one update, and try to connect after doing that. That has always worked for me.

Hello

Thank you!

The one driver I forgot about is the Graphics driver. Where do you think I would find that bad boy and what do you need to determine what it is??

Thank you

Steven

I would strongly advise that you only obtain Drivers from either the System Manufacturer, (for OEM, Dell, HP, Etc), as they often modify the drivers to fine tune the operational functionality of the system as a whole

Especially important with graphics cards, is to go to the actual manufacturer of the Chip Level hardware - AMD, nVidia & Intel - they will usually have a web application that will interrogate your system to ensure that you get the absolute best fit for your system.

There is also the option of visiting the actual manufacturer of the boxed graphics card, (Evga, ASUS, Etc.), as they will have the latest updates to suit their specific system setups, this also applies for audio systems and similar Including bluetooth

Microsoft includes generic support for a lot of hardware, (all written by the actual manufacturers not Microsoft ;) ).

One major advantage with following these guidelines is that, unlike the Download sites, you are unlikely to get any free little extras bundled into the download,

There is nothing worse than downloading the latest driver to improve performance and finding that free apps that start with windows, do nothing useful, and use resources - and that were downloaded without your permission, are destroying out any advantage you may have seen

[ Note] I am not stating that these free gifts are in anyway malicious, they are sponsored "tools" and their like, that pay for the free downloads

Get the same info that you got for the other drivers:
e.g. PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8168&SUBSYS_2B3B103C&REV_10

Then use the VEN/DEV method I described in post #2 above.

Barmans58 advice wont work otherwise I wouldn't be here. HP only supports Windows 10 on their site. Thus the reason I need drivers from the fastener of the device, (i.e. AMD) unfortunately AMD system scan crashed when it hit the graphics driver. I'm beginning to think they wont let me use Windows 7

Also, not sure what website you're telling me to go to. Nothing was included in your post! If you're referring to the manufacturer site (HP) already did that

Thanks

As Windows 7 is out of support, (only security updates until EOL in 2020), a lot of manufacturers have taken a decision to not support windows 7, (or 8, for different reasons ), on hardware that has developed after end of support. This is annoying but not unheard of.

It would appear that you have tried both options for drivers that I suggested but if AMD have decided not to write drivers there is not anything that can be done, other than changing the graphics for an older model which was supported for Windows 7

The driver I posted earlier 14.7 rc3 basically reported worked with HP 15 which uses A6-6310 with R4 Graphic. You can read it here:
Replace Standard VGA Display adapter with AMD Radeon(TM) R4 Graphics

The other driver I found was for HP 255 G4 notebook, which also uses A6-6310 with R4 Graphic. It is interesting because HP does provides the driver for Windows 7, 8 and 10 for this model.
Download page : https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-255-g4-notebook-pc/7609936

However downloading and testing drivers is hard, especially the file size is fairly big. And I agree with others which to start with Hardware ID. Every driver package normally contain a .inf file which list out the compatible IDs, and in theory if your hardware ID matches the IDs in the .inf file it means it is compatible (compatible does not necessarily mean stable). If you can post the hardware ID for your graphic it would be a valuable information.

For the full detailed drivers. I think blackx's previous suggested driver is enough.

What worked for me was the AMD driver from Blackx for the video and USB ports. Also the network driver from Blackx worked to complete that part of the installation. Everything is now working.

THANK YOU everyone for you comments and help!!!
