Solved Windows explorer : sort by date keeps resetting to defaults

I have a picture folder in which I want to sort by date (descending), the problem is that every time i close windows explorer or restart the computer, the sort order resets to the default sort by name.

Things I have tried :

-Going to sort by -> more -> choose details and making sure "Date" is at the top. Everything resets to defaults. I cannot untick "Name".

-Right click->properties->customize->optimizing the folder for different types. Sort order keeps resetting.

How do I stop the sort order from resetting?

I am already using the sort by option, the issue is that it keeps resetting to defaults. I do not want to use the group by option.

Hi again, Another thing you could try is from explorer, Tools, Folder Options, View, and check apply to

folders.

Unfortunately that applies the settings to ALL folders of the same type and i only want it to apply to one folder.

Hi Again, Have you tried from the start menu, click on pictures

right click on a blank space near the photo

Arrange by Day

View - If you want to hide the file name

Sort by Date and Descending

This has worked for photos for me, and when I restart nothing changes. I hope this helps.
