When installing the chipset drivers I get this error soon after the setup starts:
a system reboot is required to roll back changes made.
I restarted the computer multiple times but keeps getting the same message. I had the same problem on windows 10, but solved it by disabling the automatic updates feature of both hardware and software while on setup. I did the same thing on the 8.1 installation but it did not solve the problem.
What can I do to bypass this issue and continue with the install? I really need this driver installed as my laptop won't recognize my built in keyboard \ touchpad without it.

Mulic mate just what machine are we talking about here because your specs say desktop yet you seem to be wanting to get a laptop put right??

Can oyu be a little more explicit as to which it is and if it is the laptop some specs would be good.

The laptop is an Asus E200HA.

Ok well the specs at the bottom left were a little confusing but in any case it looks like there is only drivers for Windows 10 from what I can find so just where did you find the chipset drivers?? and if you did fidn soem can you please send us the link for them please.

Thanks. I got them from the Asus website, the windows 10 drivers. I get the same error from both windows 7 and 8.1.

Well that is probably the problem then the 10 drivers will nt work in the 7 environment.

Just to give you an example I bought this Asus ROG gamer laptop and originally it was 8.1 Pro but I opted for a downgrade to 7 not that I think anything could be a downgrade from that crap but before I could install 7 drivers I had to update the BIOS first before I could install drivers for 7.

The machine is now upgraded to 10 only because I thought I would give it a try but in hindsight I would have stuck to 7 and still can because I still have the drive with the 7 install on it I just used a clone to do the 10 upgrade. This is what I do with all my machines just in case the upgrade or whatever goes belly up.

Now I am not saying that you should try updating the BIOS because it is something best left alone whenever possible but perhaps a call to Asus might just find out what to do.
