How can I disable the "Windows detected a hard disk problem" warning?

When you launch the Recovery Media Creation it will probably tell how may DVD's you're going to need. Normally is 3 to 5.
Have some more in case a disk fails. Burn them at low speed (half the maximum media (DVD) speed). Use DVD-R or DVD+R.

Don't interrupt once you start, or it will say you have already created the disks and won't allow to create again. There is a trick to reset the counter...

Make a couple of sets of the DVDs, if it lets you. (HP only lets you make one set.) Be sure to label EVERY disk.

Do I have to get expensive DVD's or are cheap ones ok?

Yeah, I saw that message saying that I can only make one set. I'll try this tomorrow once I get the DVD's.

Will be back if I have any problems.

Thanks!

Yes. But you'll be able to do that at the time of creation. The disk creator program will tell you how to label each disk.

Do you want a big drive, or a fast drive?

If you want a fast drive, get an SSD (Solid State Drive):
https://www.amazon.co.uk/SanDisk-PL...d=1511987078&sr=8-1&keywords=sandisk+ssd+plus

If you want a big drive, get a mechanical hard drive:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Seagate-BarraCuda-Internal-Drive-Factor/dp/B01LXRWWB6/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1511987286&sr=1-1&keywords=internal+hard+drive+2.5&refinements=p_n_size_browse-bin%3A10625609031

If you don't store lots of data on your hard drive, the SSD will give you more than enough room for normal usage. But if you do store lots of data, the mechanical drive has a lot more room.

Since you have an older computer, I suggest that you go with the SSD.

After getting everything set up on the SSD, you'll need to activate TRIM. TRIM will make your SSD have a longer life.

I'm happy with 250GB. Anyways, this might be a stupid question, but can the cable wire fit on the SSD or do I also have to get a new cable? Not sure how that works.

The new drive should simply plug in. If you can easily remove your old drive, you should be able to easily install your new drive. On most laptops, there is a door on the bottom of the computer, secured in place by a single screw. Remove the screw, and you can remove the door. You can then slide the drive right out, and slide in the new drive.

Be sure to touch your hands to some metal, to remove the static electricity from them, before handling the drive.

There is no hard drive cable for most laptops. The connectors on the drive slide right into the connectors on the laptop when you insert the drive all the way into its space.

Before doing any of this, power completely down, remove the main laptop battery, and unplug the laptop. In fact, unplug all cables and devices from the laptop. Wait a few minutes to give the power time to dissipate from the computer.

Before purchasing the new drive, try to remove the old one by following the above steps. You will immediately know how easy or difficult it will be. (It will likely be very easy.)

I've taken out the hard drive and then back in a couple of times because it was saying that there was no hard drive detected a few times. I know what you mean, though, but there is a little wire that connects the hard drive to the laptop on this one. I took a picture, Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet

You need to take the cover off of the drive, then take a picture of what the wire is connected to. Also, unplug the wire and take a picture of the connector on the drive. Finally, take a picture of the label on the drive, showing the brand name and model number. Post these pics, so that we can see them.

Check out this cable:
Genuine Dell Inspiron 13z 5323 Laptop SATA HDD Hard Drive Connector W/ Cable | eBay

Zoom in on the picture, and look at the connector on the right end of the cable. This is the kind of connector that your hard drive should connect to. With most laptops, this connector is built into the laptop. Perhaps with your laptop, there is a cable rather than a built-in connector.

Do you have the COA sticker on the bottom or under the battery? You may need it as the recovery disks sometimes only work on a disk size equal or bigger than the original disk.
