Solved Advent 9112 heatsink problem

just found my old 12" laptop, when i turn on the laptop, the processor gets over-heated and heatsink gets loud and louder..

The processor of Advent 9112 is Intel Pentium Dual CPU T2310 @ 1.46GHz

If you can disassemble the laptop and clean all dust and dirt from CPU, Fan and other components. You should also clean and apply new thermal paste to CPU.

And, if you're not a computer tech or have a high degree of mechanical ability, you can destroy your laptop by trying to open it up yourself. There are little connectors in there that were never designed to be taken apart. Don't ask me how I know....

But what you can do, without destroying the laptop, just blow some compressed air into the exhaust port on the (side of) laptop. If you get a puff of dust and dirt out of the intake port, you're on the right track. If you can look in the air intake port and see the fan, see if it's even turning.
And if you're going to blow air into the intake port, use something like a toothpick to keep the fan from turning while you blow air into that area. Over driving the fan with compressed air can result in a blade flying off or damage to the fan's little bearing.

If you don't feel comfortable doing any of the above, then take your laptop to a professional for proper cleaning. It's better to pay a few dollars for cleaning, than to destroy an otherwise good laptop.

Try to find the laptop Service Manual. It will give you all the instructions on how to get to the heat sink.
You normally don't have to take it off from the CPU. Try to take only the fan and clean the heat sink with a paint brush.

As you can see when compress air use from air vent in this situation compress air will blow the dust and dirt into fan this can damage or stop fan from working.

Because you will be blowing the dust in rather than out.

Blowing air into the vents is only a short-term solution. It should be done only if you have a severe overheating problem and you don't know how to disassemble the laptop.

Soon after blowing air into the vents, you need to take the laptop to someone who can properly get the dust out.

New thermal paste can work wonders. A high quality thermal paste can lower the operating temp 15-20 degrees.
