Windows is Not Genuine

Hi Guys

I Bought Win7 about 4 years ago from and online seller.

He supplied the product key and a link to download the installation disk.

It installed fine, not problems. but a year or so ago, after a Win update i started getting the error message.

Ive just been ignoring it, but now im having other problems and i think i will need to reinstall, but due to the above issue, im thinking It wont accept the key and will prevent the installation!

What do you think?

There are other indicaters in the report that further back this up
Built prior to W7 release
Incorrect SLIC table

Suspect the download link the seller provided had some kind of exploit installed to get around validation.
If he sold you Office with it thats likely to be non-genuine as well.

It will probably reinstall Windows 7 for you, but you are really going to end up with it not activating, so you are virtually going from the frying pan into the fire.

Buying 2nd hand Windows software online is fraught with risk & disaster. Finding a new copy of Windows 7 that is totally clean is becoming a very, very difficult task.

You may have to consider going to Windows 10.

You pay MS for the use of W7, ie the licence, the actual computer is NOT

For your MicroStar the 2 valid types are Retail or System Builder
NOT the Dell OEM product licence key you have.
THIS TYPE OF KEY CANNOT BE RESOLD

As you still have the Paypal reciept you could try to get a refund from them or the original seller
or try MS give them as much detail as possible you might get lucky.

Until about 5+/- months ago I was a member of the Forum where the Loader used to activate your Win 7 OS was developed. At least I hope that's where the activator came from so it didn't come modified with Malware. Therefore I know the only two possible ways it could have been done.

Even though I was a member of the torrent/warez community for many years you'll find Me often "Preaching" about the dangers of installing pirated software and games. It's just Not worth the risk anymore. Should you decide to use a pirate activator on your Win 7, the best option would be to take the free upgrade to Win 10. Microsoft has been extremely generous in allowing Daz Loaded Win 7 and KMS emulated Win 8.1 copies to upgrade.
