2052 & 2503 Errors when attempting to Install or Uninstall programs

Here is some information from Microsoft about this error message:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/10164/fix-windows-update-errors

Now that you have uninstalled most of the updates, are you able to install Turbo Tax? If not, then it's sounding more and more like Turbo Tax is dependent on .NET framework.

We used Turbo Tax online. It worked very well for us. Perhaps you could try that. And the fact that you have purchased the program could entitle you to use the online version for free.

I use Samba to share my data drive with the other computers at my house and with my guest session in VMWare Workstation Player.
I've looked at all of the error codes. I can use TurboTax online, but that doesn't resolve that I cannot install or uninstall programs. I'm going to reload the OS. I am out of options.

Have you checked to see what system restore points you have? See if there is one back to before the problem first occured. I assume you don't regularly backup your system with something like Macrium Reflect?

Hello. I restored to the oldest point (which was only last week that it would provide) - No, I do not use a service like you listed. I removed the files and am just going to reload the OS.

No, I do not use a service like you listed.
When you finally resolve this issue I would strongly recommend that you backup your system on a regular basis of perhaps weekly or at the very least once a month.
