Now that you have uninstalled most of the updates, are you able to install Turbo Tax? If not, then it's sounding more and more like Turbo Tax is dependent on .NET framework.
We used Turbo Tax online. It worked very well for us. Perhaps you could try that. And the fact that you have purchased the program could entitle you to use the online version for free.
