Hi!

My Laptop's trackpad just stopped working by left clicking and tapping it, but the right click works. This just happened after my Mouse got broke (accidentally dropped down while no time to buy a new one). Now, I can't use my computer properly.

The mouse clicking works, but moving it doesn't work
The trackpad moving works, but clicking doesn't work

I use my computer with a complication by Clicking it on the broken mouse and Moving the cursor by using the trackpad.

  • I don't have a Synaptics driver (Incompatible)
  • No time to buy a new mouse
  • No time to fix the trackpad with an IT.
  • Both problems with Windows 7 and 8.1.

You probably need a new mouse. The way to know for sure is to (1) plug your mouse into another device, to see if it works there, and (2) plug a different mouse into your laptop, to see if that fixes the problem. That's the only way to troubleshoot this problem.

If you don't have time to get a new mouse, then you'll need to live with the problem till you get time to get a new mouse.

Is it possible that your laptop got dropped at some point? It sounds like it is damaged. If you bought it used, then it is possible that at some point it was damaged, and the damage is just now showing itself.

Did you buy it used? If so, then maybe the previous owner dropped it at some point.
