Laptop won't shut down and "Driver Power State Failure" Bluescreen

Hey guys,

recently I am having problems shutting down my Laptop. I gets stuck in the "shutting down.." loading screen.

After about 30 to 60 minutes this eventually results in the Bluescreen "Driver Power State Failure".
A normal shutdown happens only maybe 2 out of 10 times.

A few days ago (28th of November) I set up a bootable Ubuntu USB Stick. When I wanted to restart the laptop to boot from the Stick the problem first appeared. This is also the date of the first Minidump file. Not sure if that has to do anything with it.

This laptop is quite old. I think I bought it around 5 years ago. A few months ago I did a clean reinstall.

Would be glad if someone could help! :)

5 years is not very old. This system is 10 years old and my other is 8 years old. Both are still cooking.

Does this happen when the stick is not connected?

Is Windows up to date?

In Control Panel, Device Manager, expand each item. Are there any black/yellow exclamation symbols?

Thank you for your help!

It seems like the problem is now partially solved.
Two days ago I was researching what could cause my notebook to be so painfully slow and what causes the ocasional mouse stuttering which I get since I reinstalled windows a few months ago.
I learned that this might be related to Avira. So I reinstalled it and after that made sure to remove all those unnecessary tools that come along with it (Safeshopping, System Speedup,..). Apperantly the stuttring resulted from aviras popups which were not visible on my machine because of some issue that Avira has (according to the internets).
Also I realized that there ws no Flashplayer installed. So I installed that.

After that there were no more shutdown issues or bluescreens until today. Notebook was still very slow though.

Today I left the notebook unattended and when I came back it was still running but the screens were black and I could not wake it. Same as a few days ago when it wouldnt shut down.

As suggested I did the windows updates and followed axe0's steps.
See zip file in attachment.

Well, mine is cooking aswell. Just really really slow..

Does this happen when the stick is not connected?
It was connected the first time when the Bluescreen appeared. But after that I unplugged it and it still happened.

Is Windows up to date?
There was 1 critical and 8 optional update (also 34 optional language updates which are not relevant i assume).

In Control Panel, Device Manager, expand each item. Are there any black/yellow exclamation symbols?
There was 1 yellow symbol for fingerprint coprocessor. This is now gone after the Windows update.

Also I forgot to mention: I did a Virus scan with Avira and also a full scan with Malwarebytes (Malwarebytes in safe mode). No findings on both scans.

It appears that the Ricoh IDE controller is trying to perform an unsupported IO request. It looks to be a bit of age as well, see if Lenovo has driver updates or reinstall the current drivers from Lenovo.

I checked for updates on the Lenovo Site.

There are two drivers for the Card Reader.
On was installed but outdated (the "Smart Card Reader Driver for Windows 7").
The other one was not installed at all ("Realtek MEdia Card Reader Driver for Windows 7").

I updated/installed these.

Didnt change anything with the speed of the machine, but I guess this was more related to the Bluescreen anyways.
But I assume thats another story.

The bluescreen didn't appear anymore since the Shockwave update.
Thank you!
