Laptop won't shut down

Hello guys!

I've got a problem with my Asus laptop. When I try to shut it down,after a while only the display turns off, while the laptop stays on forever (I can hear the sound of it working and the light which shows the state of the computer is green). It looks as if it were asked to sleep,except that I can't turn it on; all I can do is keep the power button pressed so I turn it off forcedly.

This also happened 2 months ago and there's something common between the 2 situations. This error occured right after I performed a clean with CCleaner. I've just uninstalled CCleaner but the problem won't disappear.

If you could help me,I'd me very grateful. Thanks in advance!

Hey,first of all, make the laptop automatically shut down. Set for example 2-3minutes and see if the computer turns off itself

I've just performed an automatic shutdown and same thing happens. The laptop won't turn off,only the display.
