Solved Uninstall of WIN10 In Dual Boot Scheme With WIN7

I added Windows 10 to a Windows 7 computer with a dual boot scheme, on one partitioned HDD. I want to now remove Windows 10. Would it be matter of simply formatting or deleting the partition containing 10? Or are there other factors to consider in how WIN7 would run?

Hi Brink. Thanks for the reply. I tried the method you suggested, the WIN 10 partition is gone and left the WIN 7 partition unchanged. When I reboot, I'm sent to the dual boot screen but states "PC/device needs to be repaired". The winload.exe is missing (referring to the WIN 10 OS obviously) because I'm still given the option to boot into WIN 7. Incidentally, I did have the WIN 10 OS set as the default boot. Could this be the reason? And if so, any remedy for this?

Yeah, if Windows 10 was the default OS, that could be why.

If you can still boot into Windows 7, change the default OS to be Windows 7 instead of Windows 10.

Next, restart the computer to see if you still get the "PC/device needs to be repaired" error. If you do, then perform a startup repair for Windows 7.

That certainly did the trick. Many thanks to you. One question remains. How can I completely rid any trace of WIN 10. Still shows up in boot manager but no actual OS. Perhaps in the future I'd put Linux as a dual boot and would hope there's no conflict.
