Taking photos with webcam

I have an old Logitech Quikcam S5500, and Logitech no longer has software that works with it. I think the old one was called Logitech Vid. I make a few extra bucks doing surveys, and the webcam works fine when I'm doing a survey that accesses it. It asks for permission, I say yes, and it's on my screen.

I'm doing a survey that's asking me to take photos of myself with my webcam. I thought I could do it in Skype, but the Skype directions are only for doing that during a chat. How would I take photos without a chat?

You could take a look at YAWCAM a free webcam application that allows taking of stills when you need them

Thanks. MalwareBytes Browser Guard says the file is suspicious. Is it because it's written in Java?

It is supposed to be okay, unless you have more than one webcam installed.

More than likely, My bitdefender, (total protection Pro), just popped up a note that "YAWCAM has accessed your Webcam" no issue with the code itself. Ive been using the program for about a decade I think, never had any issues with an Anti Malware scan or other security scan

I don't want to install Java for YawCam. WebCamImageSave works very well.

Thanks, guys. Another reason not to move to Win10. This old webcam probably wouldn't work, nor my all-in-one printer.

Windows 10 has a built-in Camera app that can take photos with your webcam.
