Dim Screen. I can't get into power options

Laptop is a Lenovo 530 running windows 7

The screen is dim and i cannot change it. I can barely see the screen. I go to "power options" and nothing happens when i click it. I have rebooted the laptop and once i sign in the screen goes dim. I can boot to safe mode and everything is normal

Suggestions please

Is yours a Lenovo Ideapad 530, Lenovo Yoga 530, or a Lenovo Thinkpad 530? Either way, there should be a Fn key, or Hotkey, combination to adjust the screen brightness.

by the sounds of it you seem to have changed some services default values
