Win 7 Home Premium Dell Optiplex 745 BSOD & White&Orange&Green&Black
Hi everyone,
I'm an old user from the 1990's that seen the awful control and spying coming with Microsoft OSs and have done what I could to hold off after Microsoft took over my Windows 8 machine and made it a Windows 10 over night, literally I woke up to it updating. Arggg. It made it unusable.
I currently have 2 Windows 7 machines, the one with Win 7 Home Premium is the issue. Over a year ago I installed a new motherboard as my older one had some sketchy capacitors. (Wondering if the old MB NIC component can be used to replace the one on the new MB - see below.
A few days ago it would throw a blank screen (not the BlueSOD with no text, and lock up). At first after it boot normally it would be OK for awhile and everything seemed fine. Event viewer did not have see any error precipitating the hard boot I had to do except for this:
Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit Controller: The network link is down. network cable IS properly connected.
Source: b57nd60a
Event ID: 4
Level : Warning
Now she boots up in normal for only a minute or so and locks up. At the moment I can boot in safe mode only for longer.
Dell Optiplex 745
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz
8 GB Memory
Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit
140 GB HD
I am totally hardwired, no wireless at all (EMFs make me quite ill). I unplugged the Ethernet cable that goes to a Netgear Router WNR 2000v3 then to the DSL modem. Yes, I have only 3 Mbps DSL as I live very, very rural.
I'm sorry for this post being so disjointed, can the network error cause the system to lock and if so can that component be replaced? Would I need soldering skills? Or am I barking up the wrong tree?
I'll try and answer any questions. Thanks in advance for any help.

I got the DM bug collector and had to get the file there by thumb drive. It ran and the first thing it said was:
Copying mini dump files - The system cannot find the file specified.
There is nothing in the c:\windows\minidump folder.
