Hey

I'm trying to install Service pack 1 to Windows 7 Home basic but I keep getting Error Code 0x80070422.

The Windows update service is definately running and I have tried "Automatic" and "delayed" to no avail.

Do I need to be online when installing this update? It is an offline installer.

Thanking in advance!

Browse through all the services, & check to see if Windows Modules Installer is disabled, if so set to manual and try installing.
Sometime Windows Defender will cause problems with SP1 & IE9 as well.

Any reason why you don't use installation media that already includes SP1 ?

Why don't you get a Win7 iso with sp1.
Several forum members can supply links, or at least the have been able to.

You can do an upgrade/repair install with media that already includes SP1.

It is quite easy.

Extract the installation media onto a hard disk/usb stick.

Look inside the sources folder of the extracted media and change the cversion.ini from

MinClient=7601.0
MinServer=7601.0

To

MinClient=7600.0
MinServer=7600.0

2020-03-07_183509.jpg

If your installation media is a different edition ( e.g. if it is called Ultimate ) then just delete the file called ei.cfg

delete-eicfg.jpg

Now run setup.exe

run-sources-setup.jpg

Then select Upgrade when it asks.

It will transfer files, settings and programs automatically. It might take a while depending on your system . An hour is probably average, but a slow system with lots of stuff installed could take twice that.

It is a good idea to back up Activation first. SEE HERE

My Windows 7 package does not include SP1 but also don;t necessarily want to re-install everything.
Still trying to sort it out.

Thanks

Hello There,
When you try to install SP1 at Win7 Home Basic is it not inapropriate to do that unless you have Win7 Professional or Ultimate and this installer really need internet connection before you do that turn your anti virus off / disable also at start up then try the crack for get your new key for SP1 again with WinLoader but at the last if you do update your Win7 you get not genuine annoying so my advice don't update your Win7
