I'm a bit new to win 7, so please forgive my stupidity.

1) Every time I open a folder in 7 pro, it's aways in "Details", which is very anoying, how do I change on mass to "List" or "Small icons"?

2) The white flag at bottom right of screen; how do I get rid of it?
Don't want it, have no need for it.

3) Your doing a bit of work with a few small windows open, you go to move a window slightly, to see something on the desk top that may be under it, and the damn thing enlarges to full size. How do I stop this?

I still think XP pro was better than 7 pro.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Get any folder to look the way you want, then

Tools > Folder Options > View tab > Apply To Folders
ought to make all folders look like that.
But you might have to repeat the exercise for folders containing different kinds of items (pictures, music, etc.) It's a while since I set mine up so I can't remember exactly what I did to get mine just how I wanted it.
You might also get what you want just by hitting Restore Defaults instead of Apply To Folders. I'm pretty sure Windows doesn't use the Details view as default - anything but, in my experience.

Open Control Panel
Enter "notification" into search box (top right)
The first hit on the list that appears should be "Notification Area Icons"
Click that. You should see the little white flag (Action Center) in the list.
Uncheck the box "Always Show Icons....." at bottom of window
Now you should be able to switch the Action Center to "Hide Icon And Notifications" or "Only Show Notifications"

If you're talking about the thing I think you're talking about, that's the "aero snap auto mazimize" feature. I hate it too. It's so long since I killed it that I can't remember how I did it, but this might help:
Disable Aero Snap Auto Maximize and Arrange Window in Windows 7 << My Digital Life
